Hi, can someone explain quick note console? i tried to use it today but nothing seemed to have happened and i wasn't sure which link to click on when i got to the page. thanks.
The quicknote consol is mainly for people who want to consentrate on quicknotes or are doing something else as well as being on the zone.
The quicknote consol keeps refreshing the page every 10 seconds untill you get a new quicknote. Then it stops refreshing untill you answer. There are two links in there. One is called stop refreshing and it could be usefull when you want to send a quicknote because if it keeps refreshing you will loose what you type. The other link says main which takes you back to the homepage.
If you recieve a quicknote and don't want to answer a link called next is there which is going to start refreshing again.
I hope it makes sence.

And if I may add one more thing. If you click the stop refresh link, and you type a QN, you must then press the begin refreshing link again, or the page will not start to refresh again. I have forgot to hit the begin refreshing link quite a few times myself. And I use the console all the time, LOL.
is this something we should change?
I would like the Quicknote Console to open in another window, so I can play the games without having to worry about an unintended action having been performed because I replied to a quicknote.
Other options might be:
1. have quicknotes sent in response to any action performed on the current page;
2. If the Send Quicknote button is activated, send the quicknote, but perform no other action; and redisplay the page minus the original quicknote.

Yes i have got a simmilar problem with it as well.
If i minimise the quicknote consol window i don't get a sound when i recieve a quicknote. The sound plays when i come back to the window at a later time. Very strange.
But if i don't minimise the window the sound plays fine.

Don't minimize the window? This is probably a feature of your browser, and not something we have any control over. The idea is that if you minimize a window, you really don't want to see or hear anything from it.
I have this problem also, Chris. But see I don't get that logic, if your logic prevailed then wouldn't tuners stop playing when you minimized a window also? If you are private like myself most times wouldn't the idea be to minimize the quicknote console and do something else in another program or window until the sounder happens, or until you alt-tab to the window and hear the sound?

If we go to another window without minimising the consol it works fine.
The consol will only minimise if we press windows key+M or if we press alt+space and choose the minimise option.
If we alt+tab to another window from the consol or if we go to the start menu from the consol and open something new the programme doesn't get minimised.
Also when we are in the consol we can press control+N to open another internet explorer window and read the boards or visit another website.
But john is right. Other programmes work minimised like winamp or microsoft outlook and it plays a sound when a new email arrives.
But as Chris also said i don't think there is anything he can do to fix it. It sounds like more an internet explorer problem.
But i was wondering if it was happening to other people or if it was only for my computer.
As for opening in a new window, try pressing shift-enter on the console link.
